Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has had a torrid year, achieving just one match at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents the player's initial championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.
Victory also indicates the Russian has secured 21 championships at twenty-one different tournaments.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, comprising in that event in the past months.
The player's counter-punching play style and frequent outbursts on court had led some to wonder if his skill to compete at the highest level was concluded.
Yet the athlete has made changes in the past month, striving to advance forward and perform aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players traded service breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial tour title, took control to create a final set.
Moutet defended 4 initial break points in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he clinched victory with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to control a return after a lengthy match.
